The Six Pillars Of Internet Success

The very fact anyone with a computer and an internet connection finds it so easy to get into internet marketing means there are thousands of people with a web site out there. The trouble is: most of them never make a cent!

Why is this?

Because – despite the massive advantages, such as low capital, no premises and no staff - to succeed you also have to use strategic internet marketing and run your business on proper professional lines.

There is a science behind every successful activity from baking a cake to putting a man on the Moon. And so it has to be with your internet marketing strategy.

And here are the important factors that make the difference between breathtaking success and miserable failure. I call them The Six Pillars Of Internet Success

One: a viable, easily reached, market for your product: I've helped many people get started on the internet and the #1 mistake they all make is thinking of a product first.

Seems obvious, doesn't it? But the obvious is sometimes a sure route to disaster.  Fortunately, along with its other massive advantages, the internet is the best place on Earth to research markets and demand.

Most people's first port of call on the internet is a search engine. And all search engines track what people are searching for. Used correctly, this information can save you months of heart ache by allowing you to quickly decide on a product people will be happy to buy.

Two: an easy to make and deliver product: This need not be half as difficult as it sounds. In fact there is no need for you to make your own product, as there are many ways to have a product made for you, or use an existing product. One lady with an excellent web site does not even have a product, yet makes about $30,000 a month from her website, proving my point that finding a market is far more important than having a product.

Three: a website that makes visitors unable to sleep until they've ordered your product: you might think that with an ace product that is in great demand, people would need no further encouragement.

Prepare yourself for a shock.

You need top class copy writing to sell your product. The problem is, a properly crafted sales letter that works well will cost you about $5,000+. The guy who taught me to copy write charges $15,000, plus royalties, per sales letter.

Fortunately, good copy writers are not born, they are taught. And you can learn this faster than you might think, from a good copywriting course. Not only can you make your products fly out the door, you can make a nice little extra income, writing copy for others who can't do it. And, as we have seen, you can charge well for it.

Four: plenty of traffic to your site: This is just about the important one of all and one that most internet "gurus" gloss over. This is vital. You may have the greatest "must have" product in the world and the most compelling sales letter ever written, but without traffic to buy from you – you don't really have a business. It's that simple.

Five: back end products: Once you have customers, it is essential that you keep in contact with them. This is where the power of email marketing via automatic responders make this a snap. You need other products coming on stream to sell them. If they are satisfied with your original product, they will be more willing to buy your next product, even if it is at a higher price. Thus you gain a double profit boost: a higher conversion rate and a higher profit margin.

Six: another back end product: Just like your first back end sale, you need another product waiting in the wings. All these products should follow a logical progression, both in connection with each other and pricing.
