One of the many advantages of having a business on the internet – probably the biggest of the lot, in fact – is the miniscule overheads. Add to that the fact you can attract a torrent of free web site traffic and it become really attractive.
Just imagine how much a MacDonald's franchise or some other traditional businesses cost you in up front costs and ongoing overheads of staff, light, heat, and building costs. All of which have to be paid for out of the business income, before you see a nickel of profit.
Instead, choose the right product to sell on the internet and you immediately enjoy the advantages of zero production costs for the product and zero shipping and handling costs. Better yet, it's all done automatically.
So, apart from the tiny costs of your web site hosting and credit card merchant account fees (which only occur when you've actually sold something) it's all lovely profit.
So, why throw away all that lovely cash, by slipping back into 20th Century thinking and waste money on advertising?
Sure, pay per click can get allow you to increase traffic, but at a price. And, unless you keep a very close eye on it, your bank account can be cleared out faster than hacker.
There has to be a better way.
There is: keep your money in your pocket and write (or have written for you) some articles. These will act as far more effective – and virtually free – salespeople.
Sprinkle these on websites throughout the internet and they will be seen and read by thousands - maybe millions - of people, all eager to read what you have to say.
And, unlike a transient advertisement, these articles remain visible month after month in article archives.
And articles do what no advert will never achieve: they make you stand out as an expert on the subject and people will then visit your site in a far more receptive frame of mind to read your sales letters.
Now, I'm sure that, if you've been around the internet for some time, you've heard all this before (yawn). But take it from me: it works. But here's a twist you probably don't know . . .
On top of all the advantages I've mentioned above, if you do it right, not only can you attract (as opposed to drive) truckloads of visitors to your site, you can also improve search engine rankings with no extra effort.
